Henry Ward Beecher puts it this way "Selfishness is that detestable vice which no one will forgive in others, and no one is without in himself"
Selfishness is no longer a rare trait. look around you, you will find it everywhere. Today's world is over populated with men and women who have changed their names to "Gimmme" not caring or putting into consideration the impact of their request on the other party.
Why will leaders of a country loot a nations' treasury and store it up in foreign bank accounts at the expense of a suffering humanity? why will a group of people see an edifice as the world trade centre and decide to bring it down violiently? Why will a man serectly murder a senior colleague just to get to his position? The answer is not far fetched.
It's perplexing to think that CHRIST-ians aren't free from these dreaded vice. Some try but they don't know how to get out of it.
My dear, dying to selfishness is dying to your flesh.there is no two way about it. For until you die to your flesh and it's craving, your flesh will rull over you.
How do i die to my flesh you may ask? The answer is Jesus christ. Give him your life and he will transform it into that life he has ordained for you to live. read what different versions of the bible say in Gal 5:24.
Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. WEB
Against such things as these there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their lower nature with its passions and appetites. WEY
And those who are Christ's have put to death on the cross the flesh with its passions and its evil desires. BBE.
Call on Jesus today. Don't delay for tomorrow might be too late.JESUS LOVES YOU
