seemed to fall flat, like the
myriad of copper pennies
frozen in time at the bottom
of a wishing well.
I realize my insignificance;
I am like a period at the end
of a sentence in a book
filled with thousands of words.
Yet, I know you call me by name.
“Fear not, for I have redeemed
you; I have called you by name,
you are mine.” Isaiah 43:3 (ESV)
Is something blocking your
communication from reaching me?
Am I like a cell phone out of range
from its tower? Is there too much
interference from the static of the
world?
“Put me on trial, LORD, and cross-
examine me. Test my motives and
my heart.” Psalm 26:2 (NLT)
Is my trust like that of a small infant
being cradled in secure arms? Or do
I doubt? My trust is never
misplaced if it is in you.
“Faith is being sure of what
we hope for and certain of what
we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1
So I persisted, both down on my
knees and by reading the Word.
I cried out, but the answer
came in a whisper. Not like
the rushing wind or shout from
heaven that I had expected.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

The only bit of red ink I have is the first stanza is told in the past tense and then you switch to the present. You may want to be consistent so that it doesn't make the reader wonder if she missed something.
I totally liked your back and forth conversation with God. I have had many such talks, though mine aren't as poetic as yours. I also liked how you used the scriptures. They were a perfect fit and it's a great reminder that God does give us the answers we need for life, we just need to open his book and read them. This was a delightful read.
And thank you for leaving feedback on my current challenge entry. I appreciate it!
It was a conversation with God that we have all had from time to time.
I can see how your writing has really developed and grown in the past year.
