At the end of last year I felt the Lord tell me to put my 4 children in to a small Christian school.
They had not been doing well in the state school system and it had been a concern to my husband and myself for quite some time.
This as you can imagine was hard on us.
The ongoing costs as well as the initial setup costs were quite large,
and it took me half a year to get them paid off.
This was done by buying second hand uniforms and making do with what we had.
We are Christians and as such tithe every week to the work of the lord.
Imagine my surprise when I felt that god was asking me to take on another missionary family with financial support.
It wasn’t a huge amount but it was enough to make me start to wonder how I was going to meet my bills.
But I did do it.
Then a couple of months later I felt the lord tell me to double it.
I can tell you I did a little debate with him over this one.
I wanted to be real clear that the lord was asking this of us.
Once again I wanted to be obedient and faithful, and so I did it and just asked the lord to help me meet our needs.
We now supported two missionary families and one child in Africa as well as the usual areas of giving.
This is how it has been for the last couple of months.
Recently I noticed that not only were my kids uniforms looking very tatty,
but two children had grown almost out of theirs
and one was due to go to middle school next year and the uniform would change,
he couldn’t wear his existing one. (The only one whose uniforms still fit well.)
I wondered how I was going to manage to replace these
and had even started to ask around for second hand ones in their sizes but to no avail.
That is when god stepped in and showed me his love.
It started with the principal of the school telling me that another family
in the school had wanted to bless a family and had chose us to be the recipients.
God had put us on their hearts.
They had set up an account at the school uniform shop for us
and would pay for 2 academic and one sports uniform for each of the children.
This totally took my breath away I can tell you.
I accepted, and feeling very humble went in and ordered what we needed.
The amount it came to was quite high.
It was hard to not feel a bit awed at the amount.
It would have taken me at least six months to pay off.
When I thought on this latter I realised it would be about the amount we would give to the missionary family in one year.
Amazing.
My children now had new uniforms, what a weight off my shoulders.
But it didn’t finish there.
Later in the week the school swimming coach approached me
to tell me that my youngest child showed great promise and she wanted to bless us with free lessons for her after school.
She knew we were a big family and that I probably couldn’t afford to send her and so made the offer.
By the end of the week I had been blessed with far more in one week
than we would given to the missionary family in a whole year.
Trust is the fruit God most wants to grow in our lives.
My encouragement to you is " Trust God" for he is more than able.
Philippians 4:19
“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
