“Have you ever done something like this before?” I asked as we nervously peeked from bushes, we used as a cover. “If you don’t shut your mouth” he hissed glaring at me, as if his eyes were lasers. I was apprehensive when talk of this caper began, but when it was taking place I was so scared, my continence was undependable.
David is the most criminal-minded person I‘ve ever known personally. His stature is diminutive, but the spirits that guide his actions are evil. Even when he had conflict with others, who seemed to be very dangerous, he always was able to go a degree more than they could or would.
The way that we had come together to be associates, can’t be answered, at least he or I won’t be able to do it. What drove him and what drove me didn’t even seem to be similar. He seemed to be in constant pain, and unable to rest. I was just plain foolish… There wasn’t anything that I wouldn’t give some considerations to trying.
A guy that we both knew, had talked with David, and gave him some information that could have a big pay off. He let me in on the information he knew, when I for some very unusual reason stopped by a place he was lodging at. After hearing the plan he had prepared, I felt a very strong uneasiness, but a lucrative bounty seduced me. In route to the location where things were to take pace, I couldn’t have been more shaken. I prayed while we were in transit, that I could find a means of escape. After we took strategic positioning, I asked a question, and was silenced. By the grace of GOD something unforeseen in the plot developed. My escape was provided.
Since that day I’ve seen David maybe once or twice, and either of those is too many. Record would indicate that he has a very sad existence and reaps what he’s sown. I was fortunate enough to find an escape from a lifestyle, and changed my ways. Now I know, that the LORD searches the heart, tries the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings, (Jer. 18 v. 10).
