I have tried with every fiber of my being to forget you. My futile attempts to move on with my life and replace you with the simple pleasures of my everyday routine have all been for not. One glance in your direction and I am falling, spinning in a downward spiral into your aura.
How is it that you have this affect on me? Why is your hold so strong? What is it about you that draw me so deeply into your spell?
You are to me an overpowering drug. A symbol of what might have been.
I should simply turn and walk away. Yet, through the years, my thoughts always turn back to you. I often wonder what might have been. You are that missing piece, the one part of my past left incomplete.
I must turn away, yet I must see this through to the end. For to walk away now would only lead to more doubt.
For you see the years have changed me. I am stronger now. I am able to view you with the clarity and assurance that comes only from a life well lived. I am no longer that youthful young girl filled with dreams and wonderment. Today I stand before you a woman seasoned with memories of joy as well as anguish.
Taking a deep breath, I slowly walk across the room and reach out my hand to touch you. I feel a chill of excitement surge through my body as we connect. I every so quietly take the seat directly in front of you and accept that I have now crossed the point of no return.
Softly I sigh to myself. This is it. I am finally here. As I softly blow the dust off your covers, my heart begins to pound. I pick up my pen and begin the process of completing my manuscript, a manuscript that shall bring forth the innocent hopes and dreams of youth along with the vibrant passions of womanhood.
