Even when we are out of school, we have a habit of grabbing Dan’s Dictionary to get the true meaning of a word. We really know the meaning, but we just want to get it down right, maybe we forgot something. This happens specially if you are a writer.
I remembered that white was not a primary color, (also remembered the tint of blue in snow when photos of snow is taken) neither is it a color of the rainbow. Dan writes white as:
1) having the color of snow or milk; opposite of black;
4)lacking color.
5)pure, innocent
Oh, that is what I want… snow, pure, innocent
We know the fact when we accept JESUS as GOD’S Son, and that HE raised JESUS from the dead, we confess this with our mouth, and believe within our heart, mind, and spirit, we are cleansed of all impurities.
Isaiah 1:18 [NKJV] confirms this: We have changed, ”Come, now, and let us reason together”, says the LORD, ”though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” The LORD will purify and sanctify us, making us white as snow when we have understanding and knowledge given us by the Spirit of GOD.
Daniel 12:10 &11:35 tells us that having the knowledge and understanding, HE will make us white. David begs GOD in Psalms 51:7-9 to cleanse him of the profound guilt he had, with hyssop That I will be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow, Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones YOU have broken rejoice. Hide your face from my sin, and blot out my iniquities.
How many times have people told or write that they are white on a form. I would say that 9/10ths of them have lied. Why do I say this? Take milk or snow and put on your hand, do they match? ---- Nope! Usually those with white skin, have a skin disease such as leprosy [Numbers 12:10] {Hansen’s disease, now} or lack of pigment.
GOD put leprosy on Miriam because she disputed Moses’ authority. Another time HE proved HIS power and authority over a situation, He told Moses to put his hand in his robe, it turns leprous, and then again HE told him to put it back in his robe, and when he pulled it out, it was as flesh. GOD purifies us white as snow, that we are pure and innocent again.
Will there be whiteness in the New Heaven and New Earth? Let us see what we can find.
Daniel tells in Chapter 7 and verse 9 “Great White Throne, which is the Throne of Judgment and GOD the FATHER and the Sacrificial Lamb of GOD, HIS Son, JESUS, and those who have come out of the great tribulation having their robes washed in the LAMB’S Blood. “I watched till the Thrones were in place, and the ”Ancient of Days” was seated; HIS garment was white as snow, and the hairs of HIS head was like pure wool. HIS Throne was a fiery flame [what color is the hottest fire? –White!] stream issued and came forth from before HIM, a thousand thousands ministered to HIM; ten thousand times ten thousands stood before HIM The court was seated and the books were opened.”
White as snow and purified by the blood of the LAMB are those that survived the great tribulation as Revelation 7:13-17 records.
Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, ”Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from? 14) And I said to him, ”Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the LAMB. 15) Therefore they are before the Throne of GOD, and serve HIM day and night in HIS Temple. And HE who sits on the Throne will dwell among them. 16) They neither hunger anymore, nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; 17)for the LAMB was in the midst of the Throne will shepherd them, and lead them to fountains of waters. And GOD will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
