The ship that I was sailing on, across the sea was bound.
I and others were sent ahead, while He dispersed the crowd.
Then by forth watch of the night, the winds were getting loud.
I saw this man walking our way, a ghost before my eyes.
But before my fear consumed me, He made me realize.
He said, “take courage, it is I, do not be afraid.”
Your futures in my Fathers hands, this blue sea He has made.
I said Lord, if it’s really You, tell me to come right now.
I’ll take that step onto the blue, although I’m not sure how.
Then with a mighty commanding voice, He bid me come to Him.
So I stepped across the side of boat, and did not have to swim.
I started walking toward the Christ, and feeling pretty smug.
I was walking on the deep blue sea, just like it was a rug.
My master held me with His eyes, they never left my gaze.
But all at once I looked around, and things became a haze.
I started sinking into blue, my feet were getting wet.
Slipping down at a steady rate, my sinking a sure bet.
I cried dear Lord, please save my life, do not let me die.
He said, “oh ye of little faith”, you should be a trusting guy.
When I thought that all was lost, a hand took hold of mine.
It pulled me up above the blue, I started feeling fine.
I knew that I had let Him down, with fading faith at best.
I had the chance to stand up tall, but failed the Master’s test.
I’m thankful that my story never ended on that day.
That Jesus gave His life for me, and for my sins would pay.
Even though I failed Him even more, He gave me eyes to see.
That with forgiveness and a humbled heart, He gave me victory.
He told me I’d be tested more, but power was my shield.
My faith would grow so very strong, my future had been sealed.
The Holy Spirit controlled my life, which gave me tons of clout.
From that day on out of the blue, I wouldn’t hesitate “Stepping Out.”

I really thought this line says it all ....
"Even though I failed Him even more, He gave me eyes to see.
That with forgiveness and a humbled heart, He gave me victory."
Great job, these types of poems are very hard to master ... and I think you did a great job at it.
