They decided that hide and go seek was the perfect game to play in the hot weather, because the kids would not be running around as much.
"Ok Billy, you can go hide now and I will count to 10," said Betty
"You and only hide outside, but not inside the house or garage. Is that ok?" said Billy.
"That is fine," said Betty.
Billy runs off, he was a boy on a mission. Meanwhile, Betty had her eyes closed and her hands were covering her eyes. That way she would not have any idea where her brother went off to. Both kids were honest and had very good parents and they both would never consider peeking. They knew that if they peeked they would be cheating.
There was a hole in the chris cross fence that was under the porch of the house. Billy knew that Betty would never find him there.
Meanwhile, Betty is counting out loud and she is just about to 10, "eight, nine, ten," she said.
"Billy, I am coming to find you," said Betty.
The first place she looked was behind the garage, she could not find him. Betty stopped and was thinking to her self "where is my brother?"
"Oh yea, how about the bushes in the back yard," she thought.
Billy is laughing to himself, "my sister will never find me ha ha ha."
The next place she thought was maybe he's behind the garage. As she was running there she got frustrated and scared. Betty had been looking for her brother for at least 15 minutes.
She gets to the garage and her brother is not there. Ahhhh she started to cry. "He’s not there," she said.
She started to walk around to the porch crying even louder now.
"Billy is gone forever, I will never see him again," cried Betty
Billy was feeling bad when heard his sister crying. He Decided to come out from his hiding place.
"Hey Betty, I am not gone forever. You did not loose me, I love you, "said Billy.
His sister looked up and started to smile all of a sudden she felt this peace come over her. She saw the smile of her brother to.
"I love you to, let's go inside and not play this anymore," said Betty.
They both hugged as if they had not seen each other for years. Then both kids went in and had a nice cold drink of water, and they promised next time they played they will never make it this hard on each other again.
