God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of sound mind and peace. Fear is an emotion and a state of being that hinders us from chances, accomplishments, and success. Fear is not from God. God wants us to be able to fulfill his will and purpose in our lives. The Devil uses fear as a strategy to keep us from having faith and trusting in the Lord.
Fear can stem for many different circumstances. Fear can deprive from an unpleasant experience, other people unpleasant experiences, failure, self-protection, control issues, and generation curses just to name a few.
I was once in a car wreck that was my fault and it caused a fear of riding with other people. When you are in the driver seat you feel safe knowing you are in control of the vehicle you are driving. To have a car wreck you became helpless can automatically create an atmosphere of fear. That is how it is sometimes when we want to be in the driver seat of our life looking through our fleshly vision, when God wants to be in the seat using his Godly vision. We can only see what we think is safe and not safe. God already knows and is trying to redirect us to the road that will lead to his fulfillment. When we try to be in control and self-protect ourselves we wreck our lives and then let failure install a fear in such a depth we are to afraid to try again.
Fear can pass on in generations through curses called generational curses. If your generation has had a spirit of fear and it has kept them from fulfilling God’s plan for their life then the Devil knows he has succeeded. Instead of wasting his time creating new tactics he will use what worked for your generation before you. When we speak negative over ourselves and our family it curses them. Someone in the generation has to stand up and face the spirit of fear and use their mouth to speak to it instead of worsening the curses using negative comments. A person who operates in fear is a person that uses courage. You may still have fear but will not be afraid to keep moving forward through the power and love of Jesus Christ.
