The Passover Lamb, He died for me
Even though I was His enemy
I hated Him and lived like so many do
Without thought for the One who is faithful and True
I was a thief, a murderer, a blasphemer and a liar
I was filthy and wicked, deeply sunk in the mire
I heard an inner voice that called out my name
Without knowing at all how to me that voice came
He showed me my sin and my need to repent
Of all the depravity and evil, how my life was being spent
I thought I was good, loving, helpful and kind
He gave salve for my eyes, I was completely blind
He showed me my sin, needing His cleansing blood
I felt shame and guilt, tears pouring forth like a flood
His loving kindness prompted me to fall before Him and confess
Robes of Righteousness enveloped me and became my new dress
Oh what a glorious Savior I now serve
Hands held out freely, I did not deserve
Baptized in the Spirit the gifts He did impart
Joy unspeakable completely filled my heart
With thankfulness to the One who holds me in the palm of His Hand
Mercy and grace poured forth, I now understand
As I embrace the One who loves me, my face is all-aglow
He illuminated my being, my love for Him continues to grow
Deep within my heart He changed me, I love Him so much
A new creation has been brought forth by the Master’s touch
And now I want to tell others of what He has done for me
So they might also be redeemed as they fall on bended knee
So each day is the day I celebrate His wondrous resurrection
And His love He lavished upon me, I am overflowing with affection
I celebrate His Life, and His forgiveness every day
Won’t you let me show you the path that leads to the Truth, the Life, and the Way
Today is the day of salvation; His gift is for all
There awaits a heavenly kingdom, for those who heed the call
