Rekindle The Fire


The fire of God's Holy Spirit enlightens
My soul.
A fire quietly burning guiding me, this
His goal.

I cannot put out the flame, sometimes
I may cause Him grief.
When I disobey, I feel the coldness,
I find no relief.

Then crying out, "Oh Lord restore my
Soul, Please light the fire."
Don't let me be a fire fighter, Let Your
Spirit draw me higher.

Without the flames burning deep within
To convict of sins!
Or be absent with each trial or when
Sorrow begins.

I would falter, and surely would loose
My way!
So Father God, Please rekindle your
Holy Spirits fire today.

A fire fighter puts out flames to prevent
Damage done.
But we need the fire of Your Holy Spirit
A gift from Your son.

He is our comfort, and helps us understand
Your ways are higher.
Come now, Father God rekindle Your
Holy Spirits fire.

A good reminder. We need the fire of the Spirit to ignite our souls.

Great message! I'd tighten up the meter a bit, but this reads well generally. Great image of the fire-fighter quenching the spirit's fire. A good lesson!
