mommy, check out, office calls
little girls
yellow curls
and the melody quicky chirps
dates and friends in and out
rallies, games, she’s all about
teenage hopes
parents cope
and the melody beats a rhythm
college bound, bags and books
second guesses, second looks
is he the one?
life is fun
and the melody counts in time
marriage bliss, one on the way
very little time for play
bottles and a pacifier
babies cry inspires
and the melody lullabies
family running there and here
has it been another year?
times a blur
he sings to her
and the melody finds a home
time escapes, children grown
she and he all alone
family visit
only a minute
and the melody slows its pace
rest is now all she knows
he in her heart she holds
waiting long
for His Song
and the melody drifts away.
