Just yesterday during the Sunday service, the preacher's sermon explored Isaiah 40:31, with careful analysis of an Eagle's lifestyle, and the expectations of God for Christians in these last days.
However, since she wasn’t particularly gifted in interpreting dreams, she just shoved it off, as been "one of those funny dreams" and claiming "I am on fire for God"!
The dream she had was about seeing herself being pursued by dark spirits, envious of her spiritual progress. These agents of Satan eventually caught up with her and succeeded in pushing her down off a high cliff, and then she woke up shouting Jesus, Jesus, and was soaked in sweat. If only she had spent enough time in the presence of God to enquire more!
She was the youngest of five children, and the only one who knew Jesus Christ in her family. She was also a prayer warrior and became a good example by parents who desired their children emulate such, because she was highly disciplined and fervent in the Lord.
Everything went well until two weeks later; Hannah had just finished attending a meeting for the Singles, which she met an old school mate living on not far from her. She meant to evangelize to the fellow, who listened and pretended he was interested.
One thing led to the other, and she became a victim of unprotected sexual act with this friend of hers, thereby losing her virginity in the process.
Before she could hide matters, she realized she was pregnant!
First, her friends ridiculed her, then parents, who longed for their children to emulate her passed derogatory remarks about her, and also her pastors too, because they held her in high esteem avoided her.
Hannah's spiritual life took a plunge for the deep as her pregnancy became more obvious to everyone around. Even after she had her baby, nothing was the same again with her.
Three things happened instantly to her; “The Fire for God” which typifies her spiritual fervency went down to zero, then she became bitter about everything around her, then thirdly, she was unable to forgive herself.
But blessed be God who knows our weaknesses and "while we were yet sinners Christ died for us”, “Of whom, I am the greatest”.
Hannah rediscovered her first love and God gave her this lecture.
"Daughter, you had fallen into a Valley called Sin" however, I allowed you to pass through it so you'd know that "you have been saved by grace through faith and not by power or human effort"!
"Furthermore, you remember your pastor preached about the Eagle Christian, Do you know that many Christians today have had their wings clipped because of sin and cant fly as should"?
Did you also realize the Eagle never had too many friends but likeminded eagles as itself? Besides, the Eagle is never found on the fringes of the valley trying to prove a point because it knows the fowler might be nearby as such it stays on the mountain ever focused?
But down in the valley below, like you saw yourself pushed down in the dream, if only you had waited on me, you’d have averted this fall.
For down in the valley lies the following; suicidal-thoughts, depression, low self-esteem and your greatest weakness, inability to forgive yourself, even after I had forgiven you!
"All these maladies stifle your spiritual resistance and kill your faith from focusing on me"!
Hannah's spiritual climb back to the mountain top away from the valley now sees her depend wholly upon God every step of the way. She now understands the scripture she had been meditating upon better now,
where the Apostle Paul, said in,"1 Corinthians 10:12.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. (K.J.V).
