Calvin Hecht was born in Illinois and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also lived ten years in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and among the Navajo and the Tewa for a time. An accomplished and award-winning fine art artist in oils, specializing in Southwestern landscapes and depictions of Native Americans, Hecht turned his considerable talents to creative writing a few years ago. Since then, he has published five-books: "Cat & Mouse," a fictional tale of marital infidelity and revenge; "Rapture: Fact or Fable?" a non-fiction work that explores the Christian concept of the rapture; "Encounters in the Jemez," a Christian-themed fictional tale of two teenage young men who have a number of exciting and life-changing encounters while camping in the New Mexico wilderness; "The Hostage" (also published as "Suitcase Terror"), a fictional tale of terrorism, featuring four terrorists, a beautiful Arizona rancher's daughter, and a handsome Border Patrol agent; and "...And Break Two Eggs into a Bowel...," a proofreading guide that reveals the secrets to effective proofreading for all writers and self-publishers.
