I was born into a Quaker family in Southwest Virginia in 1938. My high school years were spent in a Quaker boarding school in East Tennessee. I am a U.S.Army veteran (1957-60)and a retired construction worker. I have been married for more than forty-one years. My wife, Loretta, and I have three grown sons and three grandchildren. I have been legally blind for about seven years My writing specialty is poetry, however, I produce prose articles also, and have been published in the local Alliance for the Blind newsletter. Those articles were related to low vision and how to deal with its effects.
