What she sees
When I look in the mirror,
Or better …
When I look out my glass balcony door
Into the yard late at night when there
Is no light ... out.
When that happens I see an image of myself.
It’s what she sees when she sees me.
When I look…
I see the pain that I have caused
The hearts I’ve broken
The mistakes I’ve made
The cars I’ve wrecked
The things I’ve stolen
The lives…
That I have taken
That’s not what she sees.
She smiled when I said goodbye at church, Sunday.
I think “Why does she smile at me like that?
Doesn’t she know all of my sins?”
No.
She doesn’t.
And here’s the best part:
Neither does God.
God sees me as blameless
Because of the love of Jesus Christ.
All I have to do is ask.
Amazing Grace.
