Waiting for me?
I traveled this far
And the road has split
With a million different
Facets of decision.
Do I take the road with
The prettiest face or
The one going downhill
As far as I can see?
If I take the silver-lined way,
My soul may starve
From the deprivation
Of society’s gold rings.
If I take the steep route,
I may fail and wither away,
Or, I could gain momentum
To scale that mountain
Toward the end; at the climax.
When I reach that point,
I’ll look back and there’ll be
A subtle look of satisfaction
On my weathered face.
And then, I’ll plunge into
My resolution.
