We're sweet and innocent,
Don’t have thoughts or actions
Of which we need to repent.
But then as we grow,
We're exposed to worldly ways,
Where it seems like hardly anyone,
Believes anymore or prays.
School, work and play,
Daily chores that need done,
Tend to change our priorities,
Tend to change who’s number one.
Between work and family,
We're usually spread so thin,
There's no energy or time,
When we finally make time for Him.
We set Him aside until,
We get time, whenever that is.
Forgetting that all that we have,
Is only what the Lord gives.
Without Him we have no blessings,
No contented heart or peace of mind
No joy or hope or love,
No grace of any kind.
But sometimes we’re stubborn,
We fight Him all the way.
We wonder where He’s at,
But it’s us who stepped away.
Sometimes it's something life-changing
That brings us to our knees
Something that touches our heart,
Moving us to beg of Him, please
Take my life and my heart,
Take my pain and sorrow,
Give me new life if you will
Starting today Lord, not tomorrow.
Give me rebirth Lord,
Touch my heart and then
Mold me and make me,
Let your passion flow within.
Open doors as others close,
Reveal the gifts you’ve given to me,
Lead me down that narrow path,
Put me where you want me to be.
Let me serve you Lord
With a heart full of cheer.
Let my life show Your love,
Please ease my many fears.
Through prayer and petition,
Let me bring to You all I do,
Let my birth, rebirth and service,
Be one that glorifies You.
