Searching
I’m searching
Through black and white
Through rain and shine
Down tame, often-traveled roads
And wild, unbeaten paths
Beyond the stars
Beyond the past
I’m searching
I’m searching
For he who’ll love me for who I am
Who’ll take my heart
Who’ll take my hand
Who’ll stand with me through times of doubt
And wipe my tears
When faith runs out
I’m searching
I’m searching
For the missing piece that fits my soul
The one I need to make me whole
The one that whispers from its place
Beckoning me to keep the chase
It teases me
It makes me wait
I’m searching
I’m searching
For answers from the Lord above
To prayers of dreams-
Of peace – of love
He hears my prayers; He sees my tears
I know He’s there, but I can’t hear
Where’s His voice?
I’m searching
I’m searching
And I’m growing weary
From all my griefs my eyes grow teary
It’s all here somewhere
And soon I’ll see,
But for right now it’s only me-
Alone, afraid-
But still I’m searching
