Was there enough description?
On an early Monday morning Sandra walked in the sanctuary at Coral Ridge. Presbyterian church. The church was putting together a video on his life. Today they were shooting an intro for the video.
"Hi, I am Sandra I am a cousin of Dr Kennedy wondering if I can speak to the Director?"
"Yes you can, Just a minute," Said one of the crewmembers. This was the first time that Sandra was on a video shoot.
While waiting for the director to come and greet her she enjoyed watching the crew set upAs the crew was putting the finishing touches to the lighting, she was listening to the video gaffer direct the crew. " I need you to take a midget and put a slash on the front of that pulpit, and I need you to get the dolly on the track," as the video gaffer spoke. (The video gaffer is responsible for the lighting)
"Hi I am Bill, I am the producer/director for the remembrance Video. How are you doing today?" Said Bill
"I am as well as can be expected. Can you tell me what this is going to look like?”Asked Sandra.
"Well, if you did not know this is going to be the opening to the video. What you see on the ground is track, It is just like railroad track. What is going to happen in this scene is the camera will move slowly around the pulpit. We will do what is called a dissolve where you will see the pulpit and the pictures of him at the same time. We will cut in and out of different messages on the audio track," said the director.
" Cool," said Sandra
"Hey Bill, were ready to roll," said the video Gaffer"
Ok we need to Dolly the camera back to one," said Bill. The dolly grip is moving the dolly back to the starting position
"Roll tape," Said the director.
"Roll Dolly," barked the director. The dolly is now slowly moving down the track. The camera pan's with the moving of the dolly to keep the pulpit in frame. The pulpit is the only thing lit, and everything else in the background is dim. Sandra and the director are watching on a small monitor on the floor, which shows the camera moves.
"Cut," said Bill
"Sandra, what do you think?" asked Bill
"I thought it looked nice, I can't wait to see the finished product," said Sandra"
We will do this a few more times, and we will take the best take," said Bill.
"That is cool, I need to take off now thanks for letting me watch," said Sandra
"Well I am glad you got to see a video shoot," said the director
Bill reaches out his hand and they shake hands and Sandra left.
