But then, God Breathed
It was nothing but a pile of dirt;
Lifeless and ugly
But then…God breathed
And dirt became flesh
The ugly became beautiful
And humanity was born.
It was nothing but a heap of dry bones,
Brittle and barren
But then…God breathed
And dry bones took shape and became an exceeding great army
Moved by the breath of His Spirit.
A little girl lay dead,
Her life gone before it had really begun.
Her parents hearts were broken in sorrow and grief
But then…God breathed
And the Master spoke: “Talitha Koume”
And a dead little girl breathed again,
rose up off a death bed and into her parents arms
They rolled the massive stone into place and posted
Armed guards, sentries for the tortured corpse inside
But then…God breathed
And a massive stone rolled aside as the Lion of Judah
Emerged holding the keys to life and death
They were running scared, meeting in secret, hiding who they were
Battling with doubts, afraid it might all be a hoax
But then…God breathed
And the scattered and scared spoke to the multitudes with
A Spirit inspired voice of authority and Christianity took shape.
What are the dead places in your life?
What relationships have you given up on as lifeless?
What are the fears that are keeping you from becoming who God has destined you to be?
But then…God breathed
Allow the breath of God to meet you where you are and watch as the hopeless regain hope, the lifeless return to life
But then God breathed
