By His strength he fastens mountains to the earth,
Rocks of cliffs to hold back the raging seas.
Morning light fades away into even,
Evening to the night gives birth.
He attends unto our pleas
In every season.
By His grace He visits dry land with His moisture,
Stream of God to enrich the thirsty soil.
Fertile seed corn He provides us,
From dry earth fits a pasture:
Corn and wine and oil
Covering dust.
With open hands He lets down the rain on ridges,
In valleys of the rows, to make them soft.
Tender sprouts He shall bring forth,
In the hollows, cross the ledges -
The year He crowns aloft,
He turns back dearth.
In His path He'll never cease to leave a blessing,
Where He walks the barren land yields fruits.
Hills do splurge, with flocks abound,
All the empty places filling:
Green and yellow shoots
Of corn on ground.
