Heart’s Desire
I know this comes as no surprise to You, Father. I can almost see you smile and nod at my request even now. You have known me since time began, since before I was conceived in my mother's womb. Surely You have also always known this was my heart's desire.
You have known that I would be a person who wants it ALL!
Why, You even knew that on this day I would ask in just this manner at this very hour.
So here I am to inquire of You Lord. Mine is a simple request.
I ask that You give it to me.
I want it all!
Everything You have planned for my life, whatever You've designed for me. Whether it means I live in a palace or on the streets.
I want it all!
Whether You desire that I have a great ministry that reaches the multitudes or a simple quiet Word that will change the life of only one soul, I want it!
No matter whether You've destined me to go to the far corners of the earth, or remain in my own small neighborhood until the day You call me home, I want it!
Do you will that I have more money than the banks can hold? Or that I count pennies to make it through each day? Whatever Your answer, I want it!
Will I fly first class, or in my own plane, ride in chauffeured limousines, or have a garage filled with luxury cars? If that be the case, I want it!
Or will I ride the bus, (or even walk), scrape together change to fly coach when I have to, and trust You each day to keep my old car running? Then so be it Lord, I want it!
Whether I dine in banquet halls with Kings, or sit at a table in a barren soup kitchen among those who depend on others for bread, I want it!
I trust You to know what's best for my life, Lord. I've learned it's Your will, and not my own that matters. It is not this world I live for after all. This place is only preparation for an eternity in Your presence.
So, open up the windows of Heaven this day and pour out upon me ALL that You would have me receive. I stand here with open arms and head raised toward You, Lord.
I receive it ALL!
