If I had no faith, would things cause
me to wonder?
If I had no faith, would I think
so much?
If I had no faith would I still
be searching,
And if so, for what?
Would I nod my head with understanding
Would I smile knowingly
Would I weep for grace
If I had no faith, what would move
my mountains
Would life’s coincidences be just that
And when things worked out despite the circumstances
Would I say that’s luck, or fate in fact?
If I had no faith what would drive
my passions
Money, popularity, the right vehicle, friends
When I died would it really even matter
where I ended up
if there wasn’t any up or down
Would I simply cease to exist
If I had no faith, what would I believe in?
If I had no faith, who is watching over me?
If I had no faith, what’s the point of caring, sharing, being
If I had no faith, is this it?
This
earth
each unique snowflake
DNA
whale song
chemical reaction
sunrise and sunset
falling in love
poetry
music
all of this
only
for the moment
here and now
then gone
My faith moves mountains
inspires courage
breathes life
into
me
