I am in the process of moving toward the greater purposes of God and His great plan for my life. I am more keenly aware that we are all this journey in one way or another Yet, It seems we spend most of our lives attempting to find out what exactly that means. I am no exception to this rule. I remember as a teen wondering just who I am and what part I have to play in this life. It always appeared to me that everyone else knew the direction they were headed. However, I was wandering around without clear direction or purpose.
I have always had the aspiration to be of some great asset to the human race in one form or another. I remember as a seventh grader, looking out the class window, daydreaming that I was saving someone from a near death experience or some tragic accident. However, as life as progressed and I am much older, I have settled with life's dealings the best way I have known how. Yet, the dreams and aspirations of my heart seem to haunt me and tug at my very essence. They call be my a name I have not heard before. This name is the name that holds the truth and reason of the journey I have taken.
It often seems that we as humans live for the events of our lives rather than the processes that identify us. We daily live from each menial duty or event to carry us to the next. Then we stand there and wonder, "What next?"
A wise saying states that our life is hidden. In deed it is and how we all long to acquire the truth of where it is hidden. However, after living from the minute to minute, our focus is blurred and we are exasperated from just day to day episodes of existing.
This paints a pretty bleak picture of survival. What is it we long for? A mere purpose? Direction? Identity? Before the do's and don'ts of life haunt us every single day, what exactly are we living to die for. That is what happens you know? We live to die. We're born here to die here. The fact is this reality is just a mere outer layer of human kind's existence.
If only we would ask the right question, we then might receive the answer we need. Instead, of inquiring as to why I am here, Who I am or What am I here for, I must ask one other important question first. Which, in essence has nothing to do with me at all. Oh it affects me greatly every day. Yet, this question goes far deeper into the centralized longing of every human being. Before humans existed, what or who existed? Furthermore, why or what is the nature of this being. What is the nature of God's existence? Who is He? Why is He? How is He? The Bible pulls no punches in addressing this vital question. We can argue theology and doctrine till the "sheep come home" and yet, if we will step out of the denial that life has numbed us into being, we will agree that God has and always will be. He was and is and is to come. He is the Alpha and Omega. He is the life and death that surrounds the very notion of why we are here. For Him, by Him and through Him we exists. Okay. So, what does that mean? What is in the middle of life's Oreo cookie? As I stated earlier, we are here to live to die. This fact came during the fall of human kind.
Christ came to give life and to give it more abundantly. In His death, He gives Life. Even in His death, He brings life. And I am not talking about event to event life. I am refering to the Life that is hidden in Christ in God. The name God has given you and me that is sealed in Heaven.
Again, the Holy Scripture says it all in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know....God knows! the plans... I (He) has for us. These plans are for Life and not death. If you will seek Him with all your heart.
Set your affection on things above and NOT upon the Earth. For your are dead and your life is hidden in Christ in God. So, I can now attempt to find out the reason to my existence. I am because He is.
