bible. I'm starting out simple with easy morals.
Depending on responses, I'll keep going with this.
John was not your average kid. Always the outsider type. He was voted least likely to succeed. Some of his habits just left him with a certain label. Eating locusts, wearing animal skin and staying alone in the desert.
He was like the people you see screaming the end is near and just keep going. His message was different though. He screamed about the Messiah coming and preparing the way. Something about this message got everyone's attention. Crowds gathered and even the local Sanhedrin. They were there keeping watch, making sure no one did anything sinful like get saved.
One day his life changed forever. He didn't know the Messiah he had been screaming about was among the listeners. Next thing John knew, he was baptising the Son of God. Until that day, John was pretty much ignored. No one could figure out how he pulled off the white dove trick and the voice from Heaven. One thing changed for sure. John's message.
He changed from the Messiah is coming to the Messiah came and I baptised him. John wasn't just responsible for His baptism however, for starting Him on his mission to save the world. John never knew that Jesus would be tempted by Satan. He might have thought he sent Jesus to his demise.
John might have ended as he was labeled. Least likely to succeed. He found out what his real purpose was. Send Jesus on his way to the cross. John paid the ultimate price for carrying the message of the Lord. Imprisoned and later beheaded.
John even today is remembered as a loud, locust eatin, skin wearin old man. He's also the one who baptised Jesus. The true call of the wild.
