Allow me a moment to grasp the knife extending from my back,
for I was caught totally in surprise by your sudden attack.
Your right hand offered friendship while your left extended a blade.
You showed compassion, all the while, your knife driven hand wouldn’t sway.
All about me was uncertain while you convinced me all was well.
Your knife’s near fatal blow had darkened my perception out of scale.
Still, your right hand comforted while the other left no self-esteem.
In weakness I almost fell defeated with nothing to redeem.
However, truth has been revealed with darkness taken from my eyes.
The blunt blade weakens as truth overshadows each and every lie.
Still, you pulled me close hoping to throw me off track of your deceit.
Befriending you is one mistake I am not likely to repeat.
However, you are not beyond the ability to forgive.
I feel little but pity for the mournful way you choose to live.
I lay the horrible blade at your feet in hopes that it humbles you.
With a forgiving heart, I pray my healing wound isn’t made anew.
