Silent voices of the past…
speaking softly.
Gently flowing in the wind.
Vacant houses stand as a witness
of things that once were…
of people that once lived,
laughed, cried, and were joyful.
People that worked hard..
sunup to sundown.
Hardships that select few knew.
Horses, wagons, buggies
driving on dusty roads…
in the wind, rain, snow.
Children laughing, playing,
innocent of the world…
because the world knew not
of them.
Growing old…
the people the houses.
Fading away as a mist in the night.
