We can find the American Hero in the stories from the past
We can find the American Hero in the songs that have been cast.
But have we found the American hero in our busy lives today?
In our fast paced racing cities, and our rural towns so small
Are there heroes in our midst that we haven't really seen at all?
We can find the American hero in our statues grand and tall
We can find the American Hero in pictures on the wall.
But have we found the American Hero who hears our calls day and night
Who lay their lives upon the line to save us from our plight?
Some say these American heroes are hard to find today
Some say the American heroes are no more.
But if you take a real good look you'll see them all around
Sirens blaring, red lights glaring, rushing through the town.
You will find them there beside u in our moments of greatest need. Helping us and our loved ones regardless of color, race or creed. They focus on the safety of each and everyone.
They work all day and night, through heat, and sweat and fought back the tears until the job is done.
Yes, Firefighters are our American Heroes, they are a special breed
They see our joy, they see our tears
They share their hearts and hide their fears.
It takes a special person to offer out their hand to friends as well as strangers who live within our land.
Firefighters are my American hero; they are a blessing to us all.
So firefighters of America may you always stand tall!
