God keeps me waiting. I know not why,
Withholding miracles while inside I die.
God lets the pain and suffering grow
Until life's problems seem to overthrow
My sense of being and my trust.
Alone, I feel, I'm nothing but dust.
God keeps me waiting as I pray
And ask His help each night and day.
He watches as I grope and stumble
Amid life's perils, until I'm humble.
God must not help me before it's time
And I have learned lessons destined as mine.
God keeps me waiting while tears flow free.
I bear my soul for all to see
The failure and utter helplessness
I feel when God demands the best
And I must survive the ultimate test
Of enduring to the end.
