TITLE: Desperation's March

Darkness takes control
Instead of sunlight there falls rain
A desperate voice calls out my name
"Come and join the leagues of sadness.
Take up despair and hold it high.
With that banner raised above you,
'Anguish' is your battle cry."
Mourning floods my soul
I slowly lose control
To reasoning I cling in vain
For despair calls out my name
"March with us as we go forth,
Sending forces south and north.
East and west, both low and high,
March our soldiers with this cry:"
"'Join our ranks sister and brother,
Men and women, young and old.
All you need is strong self-pity,
And mournful wail both loud and bold.'"
Terror floods my soul
Despondency takes control
I have lost myself again
To this voice that called my name
"Forward march and onward ho!
Onto ruin we now go,
Falling deeper into this pit,
Burning ourselves in the fires we lit."
Sadness floods my soul
Repentance takes control
As I realize the only true claim
Of this despair that called my name
