Twas the night before Christmas
and all through the boat
Not a sailor was stirring,
as I wore my blue coat
Everyone sleeping
and dreaming of home
Their wives and their families,
were one less alone
Tomorrow Christmas dinner,
lots of goodies and pie
The cooks are all busy,
can you wonder why?
But the meaning of Christmas,
is not of Saint Nick
Not of his reindeer,
or the flick of his whip
Twas the birth of our precious Lord
and savior Jesus Christ
Who laid in a manger,
under that star, so bright
He came to teach
and save us our lives
He lived on earth thirty three years,
and left in a sigh
He said to his Father,
please forgive all
Then rose on the third day,
upon God’ Call
He lived as a man,
to help us believe
Born of a virgin,
He died for you and me
Filled with the Holy Spirit,
awaiting the end
Christ’ second coming,
from graves will ascend
The Angels about him,
in glory He’ll be
Coming for His children,
to live in eternity
