My tortured soul cries out for peace and rest, yet it finds none in this evil world, for that kind of peace can only be found within the loving arms of my Lord; and Savior Jesus Christ.
My hot tears fall rapidly down my cheeks as I kneel humbly once again at Your feet. You pull me close, and lovingly wipe away my tears, forgiven I turn and walk briskly from the altar once again.
You forgive so freely my every sin, yet how do I return Your love? I return once more to the ways of this evil world, sinning freely, seemingly unconcerned with Your broken heart as I attempt to run away and hide again from Your watchful eye.
Instead of love, and commitment I repay Your freely given grace by hammering yet another nail into your scarred hands, and another stripe is added to your raw back, punished not for Your sins, but for mine.
Shamefully I return to You, and ask yet again to be forgiven, and You forgive me lovingly, not reminding me of my sin, nor the scars upon your body. No, You simply pull me within Your warm embrace where I will rest eternally.
