Consider the Lilium Chalcadonicum,
The scarlet Martagon of Galilee;
Arrayed in garments that out shown King Solomon,
With fragrance and beauty that intrigues me.
When Jesus gave His Sermon on the Mount,
These lilies would have been in fullest bloom.
This object lesson, understood by all,
Their fragrance filled the valley like perfume!
Avid hunters must give up their hunting,
The lilies brought safety to the prey.
Little animals knew that they were safe,
Such strong fragrances, made dogs lose their way.
Jesus, the Lily of all our valleys,
Calls us to look to Him, and trust Him there.
He’s the lily that is always blooming.
You’ll find confidence, resting in His care!
So cast all your care upon the Savior
His Word will bring sweet relief to your heart.
The fragrance of His abiding presence,
Will bring comfort that will never depart.
