Hold Fast To What I Know
As long as I walk on this earth, I’ll never understand
The mystery of Your Sovereign Will, the working of Your Plan
But in my darkest hours, when I’m tossing to and fro
I’ll cling to what I’m sure of…hold fast to what I know.
I know you are my Father, Who’s love for me is sure
A love that feels my sorrow, a love intense and pure
And though I may not understand, when the pain won’t go away
I know Your Love still holds me…that’s enough to know today.
I know You are my Savior; someday I’ll see Your face
You’ll wipe away each tear I’ve cried, when I reach that Holy Place
And though I may not understand, when troubles block my way
I know You’ll never leave me…and that’s enough to know today
I know You are the God who sees, the God who understands
Nothing is an accident, or mix-up of Your plans
And though I may not understand, the tragedies I face
I know You still surround me, with Your amazing Grace
The answers to my questions, may never find a voice
But in the face of crushing doubt,
I’d rather take Faith’s Choice
And in the darkest hours, when I’m tossing to and fro
I’ll cling to what I’m sure of…hold fast to what I know.
