whose eyes are fixed above,
whose mind is set on Christ,
whose life pursuit is love.
His feet ever make haste
to carry the Good News
with fitly spoken words
to heal and never bruise.
He knows no fear of man
nor desires empty praise,
but only fears the Lord,
his portion all his days.
From youth to his old age
wisdom has been his friend
and steadfast love and grace
and mercies without end.
He walks a pilgrim’s path,
no dwelling here he makes,
till, breathing in his last,
in home he one day wakes.
Then gathered round the throne
his song will ever be,
“How blessed the man of God
who found his life in Thee.”
