What kind of God stands by and does nothing
Watching me suffer and cry out in pain
Where is He when the children are starving
Why does He let destruction remain?
What kind of God stands by and does nothing
People kill people, hate fuels the flame
Where is He when the world is in chaos
Why won’t He end this cruel, stupid game?
Daily the stress, the anguish, the torment
Hearts failing man, no solution in sight
Cries fall on deaf ears, we look for redemption
Who will step down and enter this fight?
But what kind of God steps down from His glory?
Entering into my suffering and pain
Living like me, exposed and quite helpless
Joy set before Him, heaven to gain.
What kind of God loves us so completely?
Giving His love, He took all the blame!
Laying down life, He opened the Doorway
All of Creation shall soon be regained!
This kind of God is past understanding
This God's love cannot be explained
This God is just, full of wisdom and power
Determined His people, their hearts to regain.
This sin filled life is only a shadow
His blood's guaranteed Heaven's glory to come
Then every tear will be bottled and cherished
Then every question and fear will be gone.
This kind of God is past understanding
This God's love cannot be explained
This God is just, full of wisdom and power
Determined His people, their hearts to regain.
