GOD GIVES US ANOTHER CHANCE
A review of the Bible reveals God often used broken people. He used many different people and situations to convey his message. The faults and weaknesses of those who God used are described within the bible.
The bible does not attempt to hide weaknesses. It demonstrates the ways in which God used those “lemons†and turned them into lemonade. Would a mere man have done this? I doubt it.
When national figures, celebrities or government officials slip and fall some pounce upon them with the intent of driving them further down the road of despair and destruction rather than helping them to arise again. God will use who falter if they allow Him.
Some believers attempt to send the message or pretend they never made poor choices or made mistakes before they accepted Jesus and renewed their lives. Why not share the struggles that occurred along the way? Mistakes made and poor choices revealed would send a message that God gave them another chance and will give others another chance. This information would be encouraging to those who are struggling along the way.
Moses in a rash moment killed a man. (Exodus 2:1-30) He acted without thinking about the consequences of his actions. Although Moses demonstrated a weakness, God used him in his service. Who knows? Maybe the years spend living with his father- in- law helped Moses to learn to control his impulses. God used Moses to lead the people from Egypt into the promise land.
If God forgave Moses and gave him another chance, why can’t we forgive and allow those who have demonstrated weaknesses another opportunity to succeed? Why is it often difficult to forgive individual who make mistakes and poor decisions?
Let’s support those who made bad decisions and poor choices when they attempt to reconcile prior failures with new opportunities. Rather than reject them we must encourage them. Let’s give them a another chance.
I would prefer that God be my judge rather than some men. Unlike some people, God would be merciful. He would forgive me, give me another chance and use me in His service. While God forgives , some Christians refuse to forgive. They forget that God forgave them and gave them another opportunity. Why not give others another opportunity? Remember God uses broken people.
