I can’t count the number of times I’ve wanted to take my keyboard and split it like Bo Jackson did baseball bats in his prime. Just a moment ago I felt like bowling my monitor down the hallway. It’s extremely frustrating to sit down and be ready to write, only to find I have nothing to say.
I know I should write everyday. That’s what all the experts tell me from the stacks of books on the shelf behind me. I can almost hear them whispering, “Get off that yahoo game site and write!”
Sometimes though, I just can’t get going. I can’t find the words to express myself in the story or article I’m working on.
“This is about Christ being magnified, not James having his way. When you’re searching for words to make your point, “Be a loser.”
God, what are you talking about? This is about winning. I need to win my audience. I need to win the opportunity to make money as a writer. I need to win respect from those that look at me funny when I tell them I’m a writer. I don’t have time to lose. Didn’t somebody great once say that “Winning is not everything, it’s the only thing”?
“What does the Word say”?
Well, what does the Word say?
“God says that you have to lose before you can win”.
Where does He say that? Show me.
“Matthew 10:39 says “ He that finds his life shall lose it: and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it.”
Ooooh. I see now. I’ve been wasting all this time listening to experts and trying to find my voice, when I should have just been using yours. Thank you Lord.
I will stop searching for my own words and let you guide me in what to say. I will stop searching for my own benefit and seek to benefit others.
This is great Lord. The words are flowing so much easier now. I never imagined that things would be so much better just by being a loser.
