Last week, I asked you to send in your 2010 accomplishments. Thanks to those of you who weren’t afraid to toot your own horn. There is nothing wrong with sharing what God has done for you and allowing your friends to celebrate with you. Since I didn’t receive a ton of response, I took some of the major accomplishments from the past year’s Member Shoutouts and posted them here, too. Please take a moment to congratulate the following FaithWriters members for their achievements over the past year. It’s quite a list….As always, God has been good to His kids!

JULIE ARDUINI – PUBLISHED! Julie has several exciting things happening in her writing life. Her story, Who Hung the Moon (Upside Down?) is available in God Encounters: Stories of His Involvement in Life’s Greatest Moments by James Stuart Bell; her article on marriage resources beyond Valentine’s Day was published at Exemplify Online Marriage Channel. And Julie’s story, Midnight Surrender, From Tragedy to Triumph Extraordinary Answers to Prayer Guidepost series is soon to be published.

CONNIE ARNOLDPUBLISHED! Check out Connie’s book of inspirational poetry, Abundant Comfort and Grace.

CATRINA BRADLEY – PUBLISHED! Had her first “paid” article, a devotion, published in a devotional book!

KEVIN BUTLER – PUBLISHED! Kevin had his first magazine article published in ParentLife, a Lifeway publication.

DEBBIE BUTTON – PUBLISHED! Debbie’s article, “One Giggle at a Time” was published in the fall issue of Quest magazine. Her cookbook, “I Can Eat That!” was also published in 2010.

FRANK CREED – PUBLISHED! Frank’s book, War of Attrition: Book Two of the Underground, sequel to his award-winning and best-selling book, Flashpoint, is now available. Yay, Frank!

JODY DAY – CONTEST WINNER! Jody was awarded the Grand Prize, as well as 1st and 2nd place in poetry at the East Texas Christian Writer’s Conference. These wins led to publication at

AMANDA DEED – PUBLISHED AND CONTRACTED! Amanda’s first novel, The Game, won the CALEB prize for fiction in November. Also in that month, Amanda gained a contract for her second novel!

LYNN DIENER – CONTEST WINNER! Lynn won THIRD PLACE in the Writer’s Digest 79th annual Writing Competition in the Inspirational category!

SHAUNA SOUKOREFF DOLAN – CONTEST WINNER! Shauna was the 2010 FaithWriters Page Turner contest winner!

SARAH ELISABETH – PUBLISHED! Sarah had a previous Challenge entry (Contrast) accepted for publication in The Choctaw, Texas Newspaper, the Bishinik.

TIM GEORGE – AGENTED AND HIRED! Tim is now represented by agent Les Stobbe of Stobbe Literary Agency. Tim has also found great success as a writer for

LAURIE GLASS – PUBLISHED! Lauries’ book, Journey to Freedom from Eating Disorders, is now available.

LORI GODFREY- HIRED AND PUBLISHED! Lori landed a job writing for a bi- monthly hardcover magazine called The Sabbath Sentenil. She also started writing for The Sara Ministry. In addition, The Virtuous Woman Magazine will be publishing her article ” The Virtuous Woman” next month. Lori has also been accepted as a writer with www.Suite

SHERI GORDON – CONTEST WINNER! Cheri took the third spot in the 2010 FaithWriters Best of the Best contest.

ANN GROVER – CONTEST WINNER! Ann was crowned the 2010 FaithWriters Best of the Best contest winner!

CHERI HARDAWAY – PUBLISHED! Cheri’s book, Worth Every Tear, was published in September.

GLENN HASCALL – CONTRACTED! Glenn has been contracted with Barbour books for eight stories that will appear in an upcoming humor anthology.

*SARAH HAYWOOD – CONTRACTED! Sarah received an acceptance from Regular Baptist Press for her article to be printed in their publication, Horizons. Her article is about ways the church can help meet the needs of families within the church who have children with special needs.  It comes out March 6th!

DAVID IAN HIRED! David’s One-Act play was performed in Minnesota. It was picked up on Faithwriters and he received a PM asking what it would entail to perform the script, and they negotiated from there. David credits FaithWriters for this success! David was hired by an International Christian Performer to add Sound Effect cues to a rewrite of a stage show to be done as a Radio Drama.

ORLANDO JAVIEN JR. – CONTEST WINNER! Orlando’s book, God Made Me Pick Up Underwear, took second place in the comptetion.

NICK KNIGHT – PUBLISHED! Nick’s book, His Story, is now published.

DORENE A. LANG – PUBLISHED! Doreen’s children’s book, Journey Through Pastor’s Pear Tree, has been published.

SHELLEY LEDFORS – CONTEST FINALIST! Shelley was a finalist in the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) Genesis contest in the Speculative Fiction category.

*CHRISTINE MILES –  HIRED AND PUBLISHED! Christine received a new contract from a UK Publisher in February for 6 Junior Fiction books (for 10-12 year olds). In addition, a curriculum developer heard about her previous project (with the above-mentioned UK Publisher) and has hired her for several projects.

Christine has also been hired to work on relationship-based Bible studies, which is proving to be challenging and fun, and quite different from any other Bible study she’s seen anywhere else. In addition, an Australian magazine continues to publish her work every second month.

VERNA COLE MITCHELL – CONTEST WINNER! Verna took third place in a poetry contest!! View her winning poem here: PORTIA STEELE AWARD

CAROL PENHORWOOD CONTEST WINNER! Carol’s poem, “Wings of Faith”, won first place in the Servant House Publications Days of Grace Poetry Contest!  Carol was also named “March Poet of the Month” for The Cypress Times.

SANDRA PEUT – PUBLISHED! Sandra’s romantic suspense novel, “Blue Freedom”, has been published in the UK by Rose and Crown Books, now available through The Book Depository online store, Barnes & and

MONA PURVIS – CONTEST WINNER! Mona took second place in the 2010 FaithWriters Best of the Best contest.

CHRISTOPHER RANDOLPH – HIRED! Christopher was approved as the Denver Evangelical Examiner for

*LILLIAN RHOADESPUBLISHED! Check out Lillian’s book, When Youth Fades: Don’t Wither on the Vine – How to Celebrate Life After 60. Lillian also discovered Faithwriters last year and two of her entries were chosen as EC winners.

DEBBIE ROOME – PUBLISHED, PROMOTED AND CONTEST WINNER! Debbie’s book, Embracing Change, is now available through Book Depository, Amazon or the Rose & Crown Books website. Debbie also had several articles, stories and devotionals published last year. In addition, Debbie was a runner-up in the 2010 FaithWriters Page Turner contest and took home a few other awards. She was promoted to marriage feature writer on Suite101, promoted to feature writer in diseases and conditions, travel, and parenting on Associated Content, accepted as a writer in 4 sections by Bright Hub, and ahad 11 Editor’s Choice awards in the FaithWriter’s Weekly Challenge.

LYNDA SCHAB – AGENTED, HIRED AND PUBLISHED! Lynda is now represented by agent Terry Burns, of Hartline Literary! Lynda was also a finalist in the Mystery/Suspense category of the ACFW Genesis Contest. She’s had several articles published in LIVE magazine and Mature Living, and became an official book reviewer for

MARILYN SCHNEPP – Marilyn’s poem, “At the Gates” has been put to music by composer, Kruno, of Kitchner, Ontario. This song has also been entered in a songwriting contest!

CAROL SLIDER – CONTEST FINALIST! Carol was a runner up in the 2010 FaithWriters Page Turner contest.

CINDY TUTTLE PUBLISHED! Cindy’s book, Finding the Light of Jesus, was published by CrossLink in November!

PATRICK WHALEN – HIRED! Patrick was hired to write 4 entertaining narratives on the Mexican-American War. These narratives are going to be recorded by a voice talent and used in a museum setting!

AMY WILEY – CONTEST WINNER AND PUBLISHED! In 2010, Amy finished the rough draft of a YA novel, Reaching Sky. She has also had a few small things published, including her poem, “When Evening Comes of Age,”which was nominated for the Pushcart Award. Amy ‘s latest Peculiar People project, Delivered, was also published (this book was written by several FaithWriters members)

LILI RICHEY WILLARD – HIRED! In October, 2010, Lillian became a writer for She received an invitation to write for them because of her work on

VIRGIL YOUNGBLOOD – CONTEST WINNER! Virgil on 2nd place (and $50) in an essay contest sponsored by Echoes of The Right to God.
