Encouragement
Psalm 2:11 “Worship the LORD with reverence and rejoice with trembling.”
I’ve ALWAYS loved the water: especially rain. I have always loved sea life as well. There are so many different varieties and together they offer such a plethora of shapes and colors. Imagine my wonder at the opportunity of swimming with a beluga whale. Hubby and I took off a few years ago to get a break and enjoy Sea World in San Antonio. We got a private pass to go in with just the trainers so we could swim with the whales.
I was so excited and realized right away that this was a chance of a lifetime. I have had a lot of those in the last 10 years. Like going to Africa and ministering to the brokenhearted in Rwanda and seeing lives changed drastically over night. That is just what it was like. Literally thousand came to Jesus and I was overcome by God’s Mighty Hand moving in the midst of us. I went to Guatemala, and during that ministry time, while I was preaching, and unbeknownst to me, many were physically healed. Even here, in Odessa, as I ministered as at a Women’s Conference and saw over twenty women get saved and numerous others delivered, I was humbled by God’s persistent desire to honor us with His presence once again.
I stand in awe to think that my heavenly Father, Creator of all things, has chosen me to share Christ. Not only do I get to teach bible, write music and draw near to the heart of God on a daily basis, but I get to help those who are dying and leaving this realm for another. With this responsibility, I have had enormous opportunities to be a friend to the friendless and to share hope with the hopeless. I started writing down every person’s name I have had the privilege to lead to Christ. Oh the joy to see the resurrection power intervene in such situations.
That day, when I entered the water to meet a new friend in the form of a whale I was overwhelmed with God’s glory. As we swam together and sunbathed together, I was reminded of how God, the love of my soul, gave me such a precious gift. I realized through my new friend that our words are not as important our actions. You see, the whale could say nothing. However, upon command, the whale would do all kinds of tricks and willingly seek me out to get involved. We swam, danced and relaxed together, enjoying God’s presence. I believe in that very moment, when I was sunbathing, I sensed a little bit of heaven here on earth. For what could be more holy then being reminded that God created all things, and in that, we were specifically designed to worship Him!
