Apologetics
Of all love, hate relationships our union with God sometimes is the most unbearable. This is a problem with Christians, atheists, Muslims and many other groups. (I have found there is no such thing as an atheist, or better yet a logical atheist. When I speak to atheists it seems after a few logical arguments they turn into what I call "emotional atheists." That is the name for people who don't believe in God because life is bad sometimes.) An atheist is like a child that tells an elder or a teacher, You are not my father. All non-believers are like children who use the argument of direct lineage to ignore God. Saying, You are not my father is like saying, You didn't create me. This argument is meaningless because the power of an elder or teacher still remains regardless of lineage. Likewise, the obvious power and influence of God is too present, too in your face to deny the authority of scripture. When atheists see the power of God they are forced to use claims like, lack of intelligence in the religious community or brainwashing, to convince people that Christians are not mentally natural; there in no scientific evidence of “dunceness” in the religious community; and even worse the evidence of human history shows the complete opposite. Religion is one of the powers that has forged human history, if it wasn't for religion and the need to develop massive monuments, like the pyramids, to the gods, the majority of sciences would not exist. Mathematics, a foundation stone of science, only exists because the ancients needed to build perfect buildings for fear of the wrath of the gods. The need to impress God or the false gods (the devil) is the main energizing force of human existence. Cities and societal development came as a result of the process of religion, and religious hierarchy. It was Christianity that first pioneered hospital care, even the act of going to school is a product of religion. The magnitude of influence God has on the human soul can't be ignored (all energizing agents must be studied and given due respect).
Joining a religion that does not believe in a loving God is like a child yelling, I hate you, to a parent. Christianity is still the only religious system that preaches a loving God. This is logical because when the devil was inventing Islam he realized he would be unnecessarily burdening himself, so then it is no real mystery deciding which religion is true or false. To not believe in a loving God is to not believe in a loving relationship with God. To not believe in a loving relationship with God is to hate God. Hate being defined as a strong urge to reject a relationship with someone. So it can be said that Muslims are also emotionally weak and can only worship God if they don't have to love him like a father. To Muslims God is more like a boss or a police officer, Allah is just someone they follow. While the Bible preaches of a God with whom we were meant to walk.
I define God as the most complex element, our brains have a certain level of complexity, a certain ability to react to stimuli. A rock has another ability, a lessor ability to react. Plants have their own ability to react to stimuli, that would define their intelligence. For the human brain to exist inside the universe, the universe or the being who created it would in fact have to be more complex than the human brain. Therefore one can honestly say that the universe or whoever created it is smarter than the human! Smarter because the universe has to react on a higher level than the human mind. So the universe would react to the words in this article with the highest complexity, your brain reacts with a median complexity, and a rock would react with one of the lowest complexities. Immense power is not the ability to create a skyscraper, one would define great power as the ability to create an atom or something smaller. This is why scientists are just now researching nano-machines. It takes more energy to create a small, intricate object because the smaller the object the more of a chance it would be destroyed by random events. It would be easier for a scientist to create a rock than to create a DNA strand of the same mass. To create something is to deal with something, that is to say to give birth to a child is to feed a child. There is no birth without feeding. If your body isn't complex enough to feed a child, then you cannot create one. Therefore the level of complexity of the creator will always be greater than the created. One more explanation is this; imagine trying to create or form a DNA strand with your finger tips, (you would be all thumbs), the finger tips aren't intricate enough, aren't small enough to deal with a DNA strand. You would need a pattern small enough; a mint small enough to mold each molecule. No object can be created without a pattern therefore the pattern of the human brain must in fact exist somewhere else in the universe, somewhere on a higher level.
So now that we know that the probability of God's existence is in fact high. We continue figuring out who he is and how we should treat him. It is important to know that God cannot be evil, humans can easily be created or destroyed so we should not think that God would really care to hurt or help us. Naturally human pain would not effect God so he would have no reason to torture us. There is no point in creating a world that does not work therefore God would not have any reason for us to live in pain and seek death through drugs or other means. The first step to being a Christian is the acknowledgment that there is obviously something wrong with this world. The next step is when we truly understand our own contribution to evil. The atheist asks, Why won't God heal amputees; while God asks, Why won't they? They put a man on the moon but the scientific community can't heal except possibly with stem-cells stolen from unborn children? The atheists have such great intelligence that they disproved God himself but they just aren't smart enough to heal amputees. The question then is; should God heal our amputees, marry our women, eat our foods and live our lives also?
Many times Christians are asked why there is so much suffering in this world, it is important to notice that there isn't that much suffering, people suffer on an individual basis. That is to say, all the children in Africa aren't suffering the pain of all the children in Africa. These children are suffering their own personal pain, and sometimes occasionally they are happy. There is in fact some happiness in this world. If there was no happiness there could be no temptation. The truth of happiness is that this world is filled with almost infinite possibilities so this means there should be numerous ways to find comfort or peace. This may in fact prove the devil's existence. Why is it so hard for humans to find happiness, when happiness is just a chemical, one that is produced by success or completion? Even labor and exercise can make one happy, so what force convinces us to be lazy and unhealthy? Why are humans so greedy?
There is then the question of violence in the Bible, this is a subject criticized by many atheists. The major problem with atheism is they have no moral code, so by what logic do they declare the death of a person evil? Is it possible to use a Christian understanding of morality to refute Christianity? For an atheist to criticize biblical morality they would have to declare a scientific moral system, something they have not yet done. If there is no way to define a person's worth then there is no condemnation to harming a person. The Bible defines a person's worth as below God, a little bit below angels, and above animals. The problem with sin is it has a dangerous consequence not just to the sinner but to those around them. So God warranted a death penalty for sinners or cultures who committed sinful acts in the vicinity of his people. Note that the ancient Jews, who committed most of the violence usually referred to by atheist, never proselytized; laws were even made to prevent Jews from spreading their religion. So the Jews never went out to look for people to hurt, their violence was just a matter of self preservation. The violence of self preservation exists regardless of God's existence or support. So one could say, the Jews would have fought over land and resources even without God's guidance or permission.
The violence in the Old Testament is far different from the violence in the Koran. The Bible was written over a period of a few thousand years this means some of the violence is just a matter of a violent human history, humans started out violent and evil, there was much genocide, rape and conquest. So God stated, Well my people will only commit genocide's against child sacrificers, homosexuals and witches. In the Old Testament God declared that the rapist would be put to death if they attacked a married woman but if they attacked a single woman then he is forced to marry her, this is also a verse that needs to be understood in the context of a violent, evil filled society, one could say that a single woman being raped was more of a death sentence to her because no one would marry such a woman in certain societies. The problem with the Koran is it was written in a world that already knew Jesus, the Koran was written in a world that already knew peace. So there is no excuse for the violence in the Koran, most of the Koran was written in less than a hundred years, compared with the thousands of years it took to write the Bible. Therefore, the Bible has to be seen as a progressive book. The Bible is an acknowledgment of human history and the way humans reacted to crimes. In the New Testament we are taught that criminality still exists but we should react in a forgiving manner to sin. The Koran in contrast has to be seen as a book that rejects the Bible and attempts to reestablish the violence of the past, while the Bible is a book that attempts to guide us away from our violent past. Human violence exists regardless of God's existence this has been scientifically proven through the atheist regimes of the 20th and 21st century. Many atheist intentionally ignore the violence of the past and try to convince the world that the Bible invented violence, where in fact the Bible simply acknowledges violence.
When dealing with a violent world we have to look at the claim that God created an Eden, that world was his design. We know for a fact that evil is a design of man, even atheists have to admit this because according to them, men invented religion to give them excuse to commit evil. Based on that logic, atheism shows us why there better be a God, because if their isn't the human race has no hope. Atheism is the belief in a fictitious God that eventually leads one to deny his existence. Scientists define proof as; logic, repeatability of an experiment, predictability of a result not yet experimented. The Bible, defines proof through; the logic and the parables, repeatability of the Christian life and testability of following God’s laws, and finally the predictability of Bible prophecy.
Why are there so many religions and how does an honest person choose? Well it is important to acknowledge that if a religion can't handle science and a complicated human mind then how could it be from God. Most of the pagan “celebrity” religions like Karbalah should be ignored because these religions fell out of favor too quickly when humans became more intelligent. The interesting thing is the Bible warns that many of its scriptures would not be understood and the book would be sealed till, “the time of the end...and knowledge shall be increased.” For example, Joseph Lister was one of these men whose increased knowledge allowed him to truly understand the words of the Bible. After studying the Bible he came to conclusions that innovated surgery by preventing many deaths from infection. Scientists usually try to cover up the fact they tried to treat him like some sort of “kook” for telling them the importance of taking the Bible literally. The scientific community has immense hatred for God, Joseph Lister's life is a great example of this; such a truth should be acknowledged when studying their monkey theories; they hate God because he is the thing they can't experiment on. Experimenting on God is like experimenting on your mother's love to see if it is true, it is far beyond rude. Once we ignore the amateur religions then the next step is the realization that God is big and God is more complicated than us, so then we should assume that God would not be hidden from us; this makes the searching that much easier.
