Poetry
It’s stopped raining now.
And the heat of yesterday
has been absorbed into
a cool and breezy way
of welcoming the morning.
And with the bright sunlight
comes an unmistakable reminder
that it is no longer night.
It’s stopped raining now.
What once was ominous gray
clouds has given way to
blue skies and hopeful rays
of sunshine, and I am glad
for the gift of morning
because last night the
storms came without warning.
But, it’s stopped raining now.
And so with the early morning dew
I offer up a thankful prayer
to God, who makes all things new.
It’s stopped raining now.
