Why are the “churches” of today modeling themselves after the Old Testament Temple? Did not God destroy that “testament” in 70 AD? Yet we love to live in the past in all its errors hatred of God.
We have Prophetic teachers teaching that the “temple” needs to be rebuilt for Jesus to come back. Forgetting that God has destroyed that “testament” with all it rituals and short comings. This amount to a slap in the face of Jesus claiming that his work and atonement is not finished. It is also a slap in the face of God by claiming that the Old Testament is temporary halted until the “end time” when it will raise its ugly head and come alive again.
They are also claiming that Israel is still “his chosen people,” when in fact it is not for he has made in himself one new man. There is neither Greek, Jews or Gentiles but one NEW MAN. There is no more Israel as God's Chosen People. Israel today is an enemy of Christianity. “And even those of Israel if they do not persist in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again. Rom 11:23. Does Israel today believe that Jesus is their Messiah? No, they still live in “unbelief.” Thus, in 70 AD he did away with that nation and people.
We also go as far as maintaining the Old Testament dietary laws saying, “this is the way God intended us to live.” As they forget 1 Tim 4:3-5
“They forbid marriage and demand abstinence from foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, provided it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer.”
And churches being the spit-image of the Old Testament Temple. The Old Testament had a national religion and today, the church wants to be associated with a national government as they become 501 (c)3, approved by the government. As Jesus said he was the head of the Church and his people, the church sold their “born-again” birthright to the secular government for a “few” tax exemptions (which they already had). Can you say “Esau.” Genesis 25:31-34
Hanging on to the Old Testament “male only” ministries. When in fact both male and female are equal in Christ. Citing 1Tim 2:11-15 as their authority for “male only ministries.”
“Let a woman learn in silence with full submission. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing, provided they continue in faith and love and holiness, with modesty.”
Yet, they misread these verse. It should be read as, “Let a wife learn in silence with full submission. I permit no wife to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent. For Adam (the first husband) was formed first, then Eve (the first wife); and Adam (the husband) was not deceived, but the woman (the wife), was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing, provided they continue in faith and love and holiness, with modesty.”
And there is more to say . . . .
