Christian Living
One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him and knew how long he had been ill, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” John 5:5
I love Jesus’ question to this man. Wouldn’t you think that after 38 years this man would have come up with a different plan to get into the pool of water? Jesus’ probing question got to the source of this man’s malady. Did he really desire a change?
Sometimes the same things keep coming up in our lives (for 38 years) that should be pointing us to change. Still we remain the same when we always have opportunities to make desired results a reality.
If we aren’t seeing results in our lives that we want, the next step should be to evaluate exactly how we live, and implement a specific change for success. A lot of opportunities pass us by because we won’t allow a new vision to change our thinking and subsequent actions.
PRAYER
Father, help us to see beyond sameness to discover newness. Amen.
