Poetry
How chill the wind
How chill the wind that blows here
Like ice upon my cheek;
How cold the rain that falls here,
How barren and how bleak;
This is a place of silence
That laughter never shares,
A place of untold sadness,
Of sorrow and of tears.
Here have I been so many times,
So many nights and days;
Here have I sat in dim-lit room
Without the sunlight's rays;
Would that I might escape this gloom
And find some joy, some peace;
Would that this night would fade away,
This pain and sorrow cease.
Reach me your hand and lift me up;
Help me once more to stand;
Shine on me, Jesus, with your love,
Give me your outstretched hand.
Lord, without you I cannot live,
You are all I require;
Take me, Lord Jesus, take my life,
You are my heart's desire.

Another moving poem; I wondered whether there is a rhyme to be found for the end of the first verse, to match the following ones?
Patricia, this is vivid expression of inner pain, and leads us to the Healer, Jesus. It is so true, we cannot live without Him.
I love this! Sounds a lot like a prayer.
