Song Lyrics
The world don't need a hero.
He's already here.
He's been right with us
Throughout all the years.
Through good times and bad
Through laughter and tears.
He's right here inside us.
He's always near.
*We can make a difference*
One man at a time.
Let's start a revolution.
Let our spirits climb.
Put your hands together.
Put your hand in mine.
We can make a difference.
We're running out of time.
Love is the answer.
Love is the way.
Heaven on Earth
Is where I want to stay.
Put the Lord first
In everything you do.
Care about your brother.
Let your love shine through.
*We can make a difference*
One man at a time.
Let's start a revolution.
Let our spirits climb.
Put your hands together.
Put your hand in mine.
We can make a difference
We're running out of time.
The answer lies inside you
If only you'd look there.
In a world of confusion
The solution is so clear.
Take a look into the mirror.
Put a smile upon your face.
Love everywhere you go.
That's all it takes.
*We can make a difference*
One man at a time.
Let's start a revolution.
Let our spirits climb.
Put your hands together.
Put your hand in mine.
We can make a difference
We're running out of time.

OK, Sister, I've read three poems, ending with this one. I have to assume you have a serious desire to do poetry, so I'm going to be up front. (Some of these seem like songs which you've put into poetry, but I'm going to give you poetry advice--as well as for writing songs-- based upon what is true, according to God's Word: Get a good book on poetry and memorize it first, before just writing anything however it may come to you. Secondly, study the BIBLE, and don't write anything which contradicts it in any way--even for poetical effect (like being in hell, which sounded literal to me). One more thing: Poor grammar or phrasing doesn't sound cute in poetry, it sounds ignorant ("the world don't need a hero). Sorry if this offends you, but you want to write the best--right? These comments are not a matter of style or individual taste. Write poetry which is timeless and it won't get old or stale. Avoid anything you've ever heard more than once before (cliches) like the plague! Dig down and get something of real value from the Lord, and let Him move upon you, and you will at least connect on the idea level. the rest is technique (hence, the poetry book). When I began writing, more than 40 years ago, my poetry was much like yours (except nature themes). I'll pray for you. Roger
