Christian Living
I have walked a long journey from depression to joy unspeakable. A trail of tears that watered my pathway have given way to the green pastures of Psalm 23.
Many times I wondered about my purpose in life. Wanting to make a difference in the lives of others, yet failing to unravel the cobweb of failures entangled me in a life of helplessness.
But then I found a Savior who turned my life completely around. The cobwebs of failure no longer entangle me nor leave me paralyzed with hopelessness.
Jesus Christ came to my rescue. He was always there. I had but to yield. I had to let go of my downfalls and my poor self-image. I had to learn that He makes ALL things beautiful in His time.
We all fall short of the glory of God. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to change all of that. Through Christ, my life has been restored and I now see myself as "His work of art."
The following anonymous writing tells us that God uses imperfect people. Who else does He have to use, after all?
"The next time you feel like God can't use you,
"Just remember ...
"Noah was a drunk
"Abraham was too old
"Isaac was a daydreamer
"Jacob was a liar
"Leah was ugly
"Joseph was abused
"Moses had a stuttering problem
"Gideon was afraid
"Samson had long hair and was a womanizer

"Zaccheus was too small

"Timothy had an ulcer ... AND
"Lazarus was dead!
"Now! No more excuses!
"God can use you to your full potential.
"Besides, you aren't the message, you are just the messenger.
"And one more thing ... Share this with a friend or two.
"In the Circle of God's love, God's waiting to use your full potential.
"1. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
"2. Dear God, I have a problem, it's me.
"3. Growing old is inevitable ... growing UP is optional.
"4. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.
"5. Silence is often misinterpreted but never misquoted.

"9. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry.
"10. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home every day.
"11. Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.
"12. The most important things in your house are the people.
"13. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.
"14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.
"15. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.
"The SON is shining and he can certainly use you!"
My life's journey has recently taken me to the mission field. I dearly love mission work. The mission field is anywhere you happen to be, which is why I wrote the following poem.
WHY NOT YOU?
If He can send me, then why not you?
If you're a child of God,
You're not exempt,
Earth is not a place of nod.
Are you a housewife, a mother?
Do you have sisters and brothers?
Then that's your mission field
To give Jesus to others.
Are you an executive
Overseeing a large corporation?
Many look up to you,
Give them godly inspiration.
Are you a policeman, a fireman,
Perhaps an EMT?
When the public looks at you
Is it Jesus that they see?
Are you a cook, a chef,
A baker, a maitre' d?
Do you tell them that Jesus
Is your cup of tea?
Are you a janitor, maintenance man,
A meter reader, an electrician?
That's your mission field then,
To serve Him whatever your position.
Are you a pilot, a bus driver,
Do you drive a taxi?
Tell them there's a road to Heaven
Give them the directions exactly.
Are you a teacher, a guidance counselor,
An aide, or a principal?
Do you lead your students
According to the Book that's invincible?
If He can use me, then what's stopping you?
Go now, child of God,
There's a mission in this world
Where only you can trod.
Ask the Lord to come into your heart today as your Savior. He's waiting to be invited into your life.
Don't waste another minute. He will amaze you and turn you into His "work of art."
