Prayers
In the cleft of the Rock,
I search, my Beloved, for You,
calling Your Name
through tears of shame
for all the things I do.
Weak I am among those
who have searched for You as well.
In Mercy’s place,
I hide my face.
In You I long to dwell.
Though I be your servant,
cleanse my feet and make me clean.
I cannot run
from my God’s Son.
Into my heart You’ve seen.
Take the wickedness there
and burn it away from me.
Please hear my cries.
Open my eyes.
May I Your glory see?
Fall, fire from heaven.
Lick away the sacrifice,
the offer vain
and its foul stain
that my praise might suffice.
Purge from me the sin
that has thus far kept me bound
and ease the sting
with Mercy’s wing,
the only balm that’s sound.
You are more than able, my God, to make me clean. Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Let my penitence be acceptable to You, Lord. Let my heart be strengthened with enough faith to accept that Your atonement was enough, even for a wretched person like me. I love You. I long to be welcomed into the cleft of Your Rock, that place where Your whisper is gentle and Your beauty brings me joy. Let that door be open to me, Father. I am weakened so much by the things outside. Let my feet be clean so that I can enter into Your gates. I offer You thanksgiving and praise. Let it, though such a meager cry, be acceptable to You. I hunger eagerly for the secure weight of Your presence. Lift me up, my God, into the cleft of the Rock, to the solid Rock, to the secret place where Your glory dwells. I seek for You with all my heart. Strengthen me, Lord to keep seeking. Amen.

Daar Treava, This is exactly what God wants - a sincere, humble and repentent heart! This is all He asks and, dear friend, He is welcoming you to His arms! He knows your beautiful heart and loves its openness! Weep no longer - rejoice in the love the Father has for you! He is shedding tears of joy knowing how much you want to please Him. As humans, we will never reach perfection...but we can reach SALVATION! With love, Peggy
Treava your poetry is always so honest. I'm sure God is very pleased with your offering. Sweet soul, you are.
Oh, Treava, He covers us. His mercy is ever pouring over us, of this I am thankful. Thank you for being transparent.
