Encouragement
Hope is God’s means of comfort and encouragement when we face difficult or confusing situations. That is why the Bible likens hope to an anchor (Hebrews 6:19), a steel or iron weight that rests on the ocean floor, preventing a vessel from blowing off course and possibly into treacherous rocks.
The anchor was a symbol of steadfastness, steadiness, and firmness. The author of Hebrews chose this image to convey that the hope God has given believers will hold them steady in the storm, even when adversity comes like a tidal wave; it will keep us safe and secure, even in the worst storm.
We as Christians have a hope that anchors us, even during our most difficult and trying times. But more than that, it provides joy and gives a lift to life.
That hope is the person of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. He is the one who stabilizes us to face any and every circumstance.
He is also the one who has gone to the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. That privilege belongs only to God’s children. Jesus died for everybody, but His perfect sacrifice applies only to those who have trusted Him.
When the storms of life are battering us, we have a hope that keeps us steady, no matter what. Our anchor is not down, but up – in the person of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
May the joy of the Lord continue to be your strength.
God bless!

"He is also the one who has gone to the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. That privilege belongs only to God’s children. Jesus died for everybody, but His perfect sacrifice applies only to those who have trusted Him" --- If we could just get lost sinners to see this, especially those who think that God will let everyone go to heaven just because He is God.
